History of Manac Inc.

Manac Inc. was founded 50 years ago in Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada. They began operations in a barn located behind the owner's home. The company manufactured just 11 units in their first year. The company acquired Canam Steel in 1972 and opened their first trailer sales and service office in 1974. Manac manufactured their first van trailer made of galvanized steel in 1982 and their first van trailer made of aluminum in 1986.

In 2000, Manac became the only manufacturer of semi trailers to offer a complete line of flatbed trailers. This included all aluminum flatbeds, all steel flatbeds and flatbeds that combined aluminum and steel. They also acquired the assets of Kalyn-Siebert, another semitrailer manufacturer. Manac opened their first plant in the United States in 2002 after acquiring assets from CPS Trailers Inc. This plant was located in Oran, Missouri. They opened their second plant in the U.S. in Kennet, Missouri in 2007.

Manac went on to purchase several more companies, including Trailmobile Canada and Trailmobile Corp. raw materials, intellectual property and tooling in 2009. In 2011 they purchased Liddell Canada, including the company's intellectual property and assets. Their latest acquisition was Peerless Limited, which Manac purchased in 2014 from the McCoy Corporation.

Manac is known for their high standards of quality. In fact, they outperformed all of the other semitrailer manufacturers in the United States in 2012 when the IIHS conducted underride guard crash tests.
