History of Wabash

Wabash National was co-founded by the former president of Monon Corporation, Jerry Ehrlich, Ronald Klimara and William Hoover. Klimara and Hoover were also former Monon employees. They started the company in Lafayette, Indiana, leasing an abandoned factory that had been used for corn storage. It was reported that their first trailer was built on sawhorses in 1985. The company's first customer was the popular Sears, Roebuck and Co., who ordered 10 trailers. The company grew rapidly, purchasing their first factory in 1986 and becoming publicly traded in 1991. Wabash signed an agreement with PODS in December of 2008 to service and build all of the PODS storage containers.

Locations
