When you’re carrying a company’s goods or raw materials, you need to make sure that your cargo is safe—not just from accidents and damage along the road, but also from theft. But it’s more than just the cargo that’s in jeopardy when you’re on the road—wheel and tire theft is increasing in large numbers. And the loss of tires and wheels means that you loose more than your equipment.
Leaving a truck stop or rest area to find your tires and wheels stolen means time off of the road, and that means the loss of money because of increased downtime and maintenance costs. In addition, you’ll need to replace your lost equipment. And sometimes thieves don’t stop at tires and wheels; they also see unprotected tires and wheels as a sign that your truck has low security, so they take your cargo. This means that you’ll have to explain a missing cargo to your customers. And even if you just lose your wheels and tires, you will likely be late to reach your destination.
A solution to all of these problems can be offered by McGard, a leader in truck security. Their specially crafted heavy duty wheel lock is made out of durable material that can withstand the thousands of miles that you drive on a weekly basis. In addition, they are incredibly easy to install, but very difficult to break. And no moving parts means that it is very unlikely that these locks will ever rust or ware thin.
But you don’t ever have to worry about letting these locks slow you down if you ever need to change your tires. While a variety of patterns are available to truckers, so that extra security is provided, the pattern type is registered with McGard so that if you ever need an extra key, you can get one quickly.
If you want to deliver your goods on time, then you need to make sure you have wheels to travel on. And to make sure you have your wheels under you, you need to secure them. McGard’s gives you the tools with their heavy duty wheel lock to keep your truck safe and secure wherever you’re going.

After you’ve been on the road for a while, you know that there are many small devices that make your life easier and more pleasant—things such as customized knobs on your dash, hood ornaments, fans, and air purifiers. Some of these products are for comfort, others are just pleasing to look at, still others aid in your professionalism as a truck driver.
But often times you can’t afford these items because they cost the big bucks, so you buy one at a time and keep up a wish list of everything else you want and need for your truck to feel like home.
One thing that makes your drive smoother and easier, however, is a bug deflector, and at just over $100, it’s something that many truckers can afford before the LCD entertainment centers and specialty kitchenware.
Bug deflectors are a simple idea, but they can sure make driving more pleasant. If you’re sick of constantly getting bugs, stones, and other debris on your windshield, then a bug deflector can do the trick. A simple addition to your hood, the bug deflector comes in many sizes, styles, and colors. United Truck Centers manufactures an aerodynamic bug deflector for trucks that is guaranteed to keep that debris away!
Although a killer bug probably won’t end up doing your windshield in, the same can’t be said for stones. In order to protect your windshield from stones that might possibly crack it, a bug guard is necessary. By spending just over $100 now, you can save hundreds in repair to your windshield. Not to mention the fact that driving without those annoying rocks is much more pleasant.
Of course, adding a bug deflector to your truck can also augment your style. Choose a color to match your truck, and American flag, or another design; a bug deflator can make a truck look more handsome. So check out bug deflectors for trucks with United Truck Centers or elsewhere if you’re looking for a relatively inexpensive, practical, and stylish addition to your truck.

Unbalanced tires are not only dangerous, but they also end up costing you much more money in the long run, as you have to replace your tires more often. If you’re driving down the road, and your steering wheel starts shaking, odds are you need to balance your tires. If they are not balanced, you could easily loose control of your truck, since unbalanced tires can lead to a different kind of feel when you’re on the road.
The traditional way of balancing tires has been to use wheel weights, which have been around for quite some time. But now, there’s a way to balance tires specially designed with the trucker in mind, and that’s Dyna Beads.
Dyna Beads are high-density, ceramic beads that are easily installed and continually balance your tires as you drive. That means you never have to drive for a second on unbalanced tires. Other methods of balancing tires make you wait until you think your tires are unbalanced to have them balanced—time and time again. But with Dyna Beads, you never have to wait that long.
Dyna Beads were made for semi-trucks, RVs, and other vehicles that do a lot of over-the-road driving. Unlike wheel balancing methods for personal cars and trucks, Dyna Beads are formulated for the rigors of the road, for vehicles that have to travel long, hard miles on their tires. These kinds of tires get the most stress, so they need Dyna Beads in order to be cost-effective.
In fact, Dyna Beads actually end up saving you money as a trucker. When tires are unbalanced, they have to be replaced much faster because they do not receive equal amounts of wear and tear. No longer circular, they end up dragging you along the road, costing you more in fuel expenses. As fuel prices continue to rise, the last thing you want to do is have to fuel up more often, and healthy tires have been connected to better fuel mileage. With Dyna Beads, you’ll get balanced tires that don’t have to be replaced often and that reduce fuel costs.
Of course, cost isn’t the only benefit of keeping your tires balanced with Dyna Beads, other benefits include the fact that your ride will be smoother, free of the vibration associated with unbalanced tires. Vibrating during driving can be frustrating even if you are only going a short distance, but it can make work nearly unbearable of you are driving hundreds of miles.
Not only will Dyna Beads save you money and improve your ride, but they are also safe, reusable, and inexpensive. They don’t harm tires in any way and they can be reused with new tires or different vehicles. So if you’re looking for a cost-effective way to save money on tires, fuel, and tire balancing, Dyna Beads are the perfect solution.

When the weather gets snowy and there is a chance of ice on the road, all drivers need to take extra caution, but semi-truck drivers are required to be more cautious than others. Why? Well, for one, semi-truck drivers are professional drivers, so the bar is set higher for them. A second reason that semi-truck drivers have more responsibility is the fact that they are larger vehicles and cause more damage when they get into accidents.
In icy conditions, it can be easy for tires to loose traction, even if you are carrying a heavy load. For this reason, truckers know that they have to carry chains in order to chain up their tires in hazardous weather. Without them, truckers can be subject to dangerous accidents. In some states, it is actually illegal for truckers to travel without chains in inclement weather, as law enforcement knows, chains add weight to tires, increasing traction and making it safer to drive.
But chaining up your tires can be bothersome and frustrating, especially if those chains get tangled. One of the best ways to make sure that you are in compliance with the law but not taking up too much time dealing with chains is by getting a chain hanger. And where better to get a chain hanger than through the giant, Highway Products. Highway Products is best known for their fantastic truck toolboxes and undercarriage boxes, but their innovative chain hanger is just as sturdy as any toolbox.
Located near the mountains in White City, Oregon, Highway Products has been around since the 1970s, and truckers have known the company’s reputation for being a top-of-the-line builder of truck toolboxes. Because they only use the best in raw materials, pride themselves on skillful craftsmanship, and top the list in customer service, truckers know that Highway Products is the place to go if you need a toolbox made.
These same principals are used when Highway Products makes its chain hangers. Sturdy and ready for life on the road, all of Highway Products’ creations are made out of sturdy materials and are road ready. And because driving among the mountains in Oregon can get rather difficult, and cold, these innovations are ready to stand up to the demands of the road.
The biggest benefit of the chain hanger, however, is the way it makes truckers’ jobs easier. Because the doors open on the sides and it allows truckers to store two triple sets and two single sets of chains, truckers can access their chains quickly and neatly. The chains are organized, not tangled and/or falling down. This saves a trucker the time and frustration of dealing with messy chains. Of course, if you have a chain hanger, you’re more likely to bring chains, meaning you’re not breaking the law. With a chain hanger, then you end up saving money on the fines you would otherwise pay. So stay safe, but stay in style. The chain hanger by Highway Products is the answer to both questions.

But while iPods and DVD players have certainly changed the life of the trucker forever, this doesn’t mean that radio is a thing of the past. No, radio talk stations like those specifically designed for truckers are often how truckers hear news and views from across the country. That’s why this audio system is fully compatible with AM/FM stations via a tuner; this truck sound system even allows you to set AM/FM presets like you would in a traditional vehicle.
Stylishly sleek, the faceplate features an LCD screen with an adjustable light. In fact, this stereo system is billed as modern art, since it is a wall-mount system. Truckers who would rather look at electronic equipment rather than art can mount this stylish system on their cab walls.
And because the audio system is manufactured by the proud name of Jensen, you can be sure that you are getting the audio quality that you want to experience as you are driving down the road. Known for their high-quality electronic products, Jensen is a leading manufacturer of this kind of equipment. So if you want the best in audio and “modern art” check out the AWM970 Audio System by Jensen. For under $300, it’s the kind of deal that music lovers can’t pass up.

When you’re an over the road trucker, there’s little that’s worse than getting lost. Not only do you worry about picking up or dropping off your load, but you also have to be concerned about getting stuck in areas that don’t accommodate trucks as large as yours. Getting lost is a waste of time, and ultimately money.
That’s why it’s worth it to invest in the Co-Pilot GPS system. No ordinary GPS unit, the Co-Pilot is designed especially for truckers. It knows that you can’t travel down all roads, and it notifies you of this before you try to do so. With the Co-Pilot, you can see easy-to-read directions on either your PC or on a small screen purchased through a retailer like Diesel Boss.
The Co-Pilot is so easy to use that truckers won’t have to think twice about recommending it to their friends. It even gives you step-by-step voice directions, in addition to showing you maps on the screen. Trip planning is another feature of the Co-Pilot, which helps you know from day one or hour one the route that your truck is heading. In fact, with multiple views such as the 3D view and the trip preview, which allows you to see how your route takes you across the country, you can be in charge of where you’re hading before you even leave home base.
Because getting lost can end up costing you so much, the GPS systems are an investment that will cost you no more than $500, depending on the model. Just think about it, that’s less than $500 for a guarantee that you’ll be getting where you need to go on time and without getting lost. In addition, this kind of an accessory can help keep you safe. Instead of venturing off your path, where you might find safety hazards such as traffic congestion, road construction, and narrow roads, you can stay on the right road with this GPS unit.
In terms of traffic congestion, the GPS unit can even issue you warnings about traffic problems so you can take another route instead of facing long delays and possible hazards. You can also use your GPS system in case you do run into traffic problems by planning another route.
And now, the Co-Pilot system can even be fitted with an external antenna. This piece of equipment, which is waterproof and sells for under $200, can improve the range of your GPS signal, and also improves the performance of your Co-Pilot GPS unit.
No matter where you travel, the best in modern technology can help you get there and get there on time. The Co-Pilot GPS system is a great example of how technology can make your life easier as a trucker and a businessperson. Just like you wouldn’t leave home without your cell phone or wallet, you shouldn’t leave home without your GPS. GPS units like the Co-Pilot are an investment in your business.

Although you might think that winter is behind us, it’s been rearing its ugly head in many places throughout the United States and Canada. Bitterly cold temperatures have surprised us by hiding in the shadow of warm day, but trucker can’t forget the facts: cold weather is bad for their trucks, and weather alternating between cold and warm can be even more stressful for the already stressed semi-truck engine.
That’s why truckers have to take a preemptive strike against cold weather, even cold weather that hits at the beginning, middle, and end of spring. To do this, truckers can choose from a long line of fuel additives manufactured by a variety of brands. Treatments are available for a variety of winterizing issues, in addition to trucks that run on both diesel and bio-diesel.
By choosing Penray’s products, truckers can be sure that they’re choosing an additive that makes sense, and is just right for their trucks. Penray’s has been in the additive business for long enough to earn a name for themselves, and their fuel treatments are proof that that name is well deserved.
By using Penray’s additives, truckers can make sure that they’re systems are running healthily when cold weather is getting ready to strike. Using fuel additives is a bit like getting a vaccination against the flu, a preventative measure that can save you pain and discomfort in the long run. In the same way, using Penray’s will reduce downtime and improve your fuel efficiency, keeping you earning money while your competitors may be broken down on the road.
Truckers who are looking to protect themselves against the cold should check out Penray's for a full list of products. And while winterizing your trucks is important, if you’re ready to take a step toward becoming a trucker with immense pride in his or her machine, you should consider using Penray’s Fuel Prep Year Round Treatment, and other additives that are meant to be used on a yearly basis.
While we’d like to pretend the Groundhog didn’t see his shadow on February second, we can’t rule out sudden cold bursts just yet. For most, that means carrying a sweater, but for truck drivers that means being prepared and using diesel engine products like those available from Penray.

How much of your diving time do you spend weighing in the loading and unloading phases of your drive? That’s the question that the manufacturers of Air-Weigh want truckers around the world to ask themselves. The answer might lead you to believe that you’re loosing money.
Whether you’re weighing to determine payloads or an answer to all your weighing needs, Air-Weigh offers accurate readings that can be accessed right from the dashboard. Though Air-Weigh has been providing this technology for some time, its newest invention is the one that truckers will rally over. The Air-Weigh LoadMaxx Scale is that invention, which combines convenience with technology in order to save truckers more time than ever. The electronic scales show weight information to the drivers, while wireless transmission capabilities allow the numbers to be sent directly to headquarters. By incorporating weight alarms, the LoadMaxx Scale is determined to make truckers ultra safe, as they sound an alarm when the weight becomes a problem. Like all Air-Weigh products, the LoadMaxx Scale is guaranteed to produce accurate readings. That’s why it even has a device built-in to compensate for the pressure sometimes created by incline.
According to Air-Weigh, purchasing one of these on-the-road scales can save time, and therefore, money. Indeed, as other transportation costs continue to rise, saving money on the cost of weighing is a smart tactic. According to Air-Weigh, the money spent on an in-cab weighing device will be returned after just a few trips without time-consuming weighing. And because Air-Weigh is ultra-accurate, you can be sure that your truck and its cargo are in good hands.
For more information about Air-Weigh, truckers can visit its web site at Air-Weigh .com. There, truckers can even calculate their savings with the online calculator to determine whether or not Air-Weigh is for them.

Slow Cooker Crock
A crock-pot, or a slow cooker crock, is the culinary invention that has saved many busy men and women from choosing between dining out and hours spent preparing a meal for dining in. Just toss in some meet, vegetables, and maybe some sauce, and you have yourself a meal ready to go in just a few short hours. And if you’re around the slow cooker while it’s cooking, you get to enjoy the delicious smell of home cooking all day long—without the work.
Truckers, like any other workers, can greatly benefit from a slow cooker crock. Instead of being forced to eat fast food, truck stop fare, or restaurant selections, truckers can shop at grocery stores and fresh food markets. This is both a healthy and cost saving solution. In addition, slow cookers save truckers the work of actually cooking. Putting together a great-tasting recipe in a slow cooker is easy, and slow cooker recipes can be found all over the Internet for free. Truckers can also find slow cooker recipes in books and magazines throughout the country, giving them easy access to easy cooking.

For most truckers, time is of the essence, but operating in accordance with rules and regulations is similarly important. According to John Baxter of CCJ Magazine, DOT regulations concerning tires, “require drivers to gauge tires as part of a pre-trip inspection and every three hours while on the road.”
But Baxter says this doesn’t happen realistically. Getting drivers to stop and check their tire pressure at truck stops, when this would mean less time on the road and less money in their pockets, would be a hard task to complete. That’s why Joseph Cummins, who used to own a small fleet and was once a driver, invented the Accu-Thump.
This innovative device is designed to give truckers the chance to check their tires for problems without the hassle and downtime associated with tire gauges. This way, truckers achieve their goal of checking their tires, where they probably would have avoided the task in the past. Truckers simply use the Accu-Thump to whack their tires during each rest stop in order to determine whether or not they’re up to par. The patented technology is designed to both give the driver an accurate reading in addition to preventing fatigue, which will encourage truckers to continue using the device.
With a bulb on one end and a 90-plus-degree convex curve so that truckers can strike the tire at almost any point and still get an accurate reading. Because truckers can use the device nearly effortlessly and quite quickly, Cummins and others hope that this will increase the number of truckers who choose to check their tires on a regular basis.
Although many suggest that tire pressure does not change much in three hours, truckers are compelled by DOT standards to check their pressure. Of course, Baxter remarks that using gauges to check the pressure would most likely lead to an incorrect reading anyway because of temperature changes, and the like. The Accu-Thump gives drivers a way around this regulation. Truckers and fleet owners who want to stay safe without the hassle can check out a Cummin’s accu-thump to see if the device is for them.

Only truckers know how serious traffic violations can be. It’s tough enough when you’ve earned that traffic violation by breaking a law of the road, but being stopped by a police officer for no fault of your own can be one of the most frustrating experiences that a trucker encounters. That’s why truckers keep on top of their vehicle registration requirements, making sure they or their companies have met the requirements for licensure and other government regulations.
But truckers can still get pulled over or face fines for license plates that are not correctly revealed. This becomes frustrating when the reason that the license plate is not revealed is because of mud or road debris blocking the numbers. Most often, these debris just slide right off, but sometimes these debris can block numbers on the license plate, or even cause permanent harm.
That’s where the clear cover license plate holder comes in. This product, manufactured by Weather Tech, is made of strong acrylic, and is called “virtually indestructible” and “complete license plate protection” by its marketers. The one-piece product also features a gasket seal in order to keep out moisture and dirt. Etched with UV protection, the acrylic cover also protects the license plate from yellowing and cracking. Truckers can choose the color of border for a custom license plate holder for their vehicle.
In addition to serving as a strong protection for their license plates, the clear cover is nearly guaranteed to fit snugly and install easily. The specially designed steeped lip format is formulated to fit nearly every license plate and vehicle with ease. The one-piece design and click and stay screw caps also aid in the easy installation of the product.
For less than $30, truckers can be sure that their license plate will remain free of obstruction with the clear cover by Weather Tech. Not only will this allow truckers to avoid tickets for improper display of license plate, but will also keep the license plate safe from normal wear and tear. This can save truckers the cost of license plate replacement, in addition to the hassle of re-plating their vehicle.
Whether you’re worried about tickets related to license plate obstruction or license plate damage, the clear cover from Weather Tech is the perfect way to keep your plate safe.

A hubcap is a hubcap. As a trucker who’s purchased every gizmo and gadget meant to make life safer, more convenient, or more protective for each and every trucker, you might be tired of buying into all of the specialized products. But if you’re looking for a wheel or wheel accessory that far exceeds the quality of most wheel products, then Alcoa Wheels is the company for you.
Specializing in meeting the needs of commercial transportation in the area of wheels and wheel components, Alcoa Wheels also services non-commercial automobiles such as lightweight trucks and motorcycles, along with cars. But their innovative design for heavy-duty trucks and trailers allows truckers to have impressive looking wheels that also withstand the wrath or the road and make the journey easier.
In addition to being impressive and road-tested, Alcoa’s wheel products are formed with a unique, one-piece design. This design allows truckers to remain confident in the fact that the products will not fall apart due to a poorly pieced together design. According to their web site, products fashioned using a multi piece design “concentrate stress where fatigue cracks can start.”
Even though they’re built to last, Alcoa’s wheels are similarly impressive in style, shine, and ease of upkeep. Featuring bright aluminum components, these accessories shine unlike other painted wheels. But more than just pleasant to look at, the Alcoa wheel accessories are engineered for a smooth ride and a faster suspension response. These state-of-the-art materials are also corrosion resistant, insuring a long and well-performing life. And for safety considerations, Alcoa wheels and wheel accessories offer a reflective surface that allow truckers’ tires to be easily visible. This reflection gives truckers a step over others in maintaining safety precautions on the road.
Along with their advantages, Alcoa Wheels sells its products via the Internet in an easy-to-search and easy-to-use web site. The site allows truckers to search for accessories both for heavy-duty trucks and their personal vehicles. By using the company’s search engine to find quality vehicles, truckers can read about the accessories and then purchase them. To choose a wheel or wheel accessory that is number one in value, aesthetics, and performances, Alcoa Wheels is an excellent resource.

Although you’d probably enjoy it if you never had to open the hood of your truck again, it is inevitable that the hood will have to be raised sometime in the near future. Whether you’re performing an engine check, topping off fluids, or allowing a potential buyer to inspect your engine, you’re sure to experience the inconvenience of having to lift your hood in the near future. That is, unless you own a Hood Express.
Activated by remote control, the hood express lifts your cab’s hood at the touch of a button so that you don’t have to bother with tiresome bending, lifting, and hoisting. According to the product’s web site, the innovation can reduce significant back strain from traditional raising and lowering of the hood.
Furthermore, the company suggests that the device is intended for safety, not just convenience, because of its ability to keep the vehicle’s hood, and those who are working on it, out of the line of danger. According to Hood Express, the product helps reduce broken hood ornaments and hoods, prevent the closing of hoods due to wind, and locks the hood in a closed position, discouraging thieves or vandals. The product also makes it easier for truckers’ to open their hoods, increasing the likelihood that they will participate in frequent maintenance and inspection.
As easy as the product is to operate, it is easy to install, requiring nearly no maintenance, and using an easy installation.
Available for Peterbilt, International, Kenworth, Freightliner, Mack, Western Star, and a variety of other makes, the Hood Express can be purchased as easily as it is operated, with the click of a button on the company’s web site. According to the company, a tax deduction may be available for the purchase of the hood.
Whether you’re interested in the Hood Express for convenience or safety reasons, the product is an innovation that truckers will soon be rallying for on their trucks. Instead of the strain required when opening the cab for daily maintenance and inspections, the Hood Express requires only the push of a button. A truly revolutionizing, but simple, product, the Hood Express will most likely be a hit with truckers across the United States.

Although the transportation industry has flourished since the early 1800 days of Western Expansion, the increased availability of the Internet has made working as a trucker easier and more convenient. Not only can truckers stay in touch with friends and family, look up the best truck stops and restaurants along their routes, and find directions in the event of a detour, using the Internet in the cab has become a fresh, fast, and inexpensive way to keep drivers, companies, and customers in contact with one another. Also, the Internet is a great resource to keep safe on the road, allowing truckers to look up road conditions, severe weather, and other safety hazards that might impact their haul.
Although a new era trucker uses the Internet, or Internet powered devices such as GPS units and cell phones, on his or her daily drives, getting connected and staying connected on the road isn’t always easy. The conditions on the road are rough, and keeping a signal, or staying connected to the source if hooked up with hard wires, can often be quite challenging. To deal with the problem of technology and the road, a line of tough products have emerged. Not the stylish little phones that you see on display at the local mall, tough phones made from hard plastics with thick, black and white screens, exist for the trucker or construction worker for whom dropping the phone would be rather dangerous. In addition to cell phones, thick laptops in brief cases that are so secure and protected that they look like they’re carrying bombs are the product of choice for truckers who worry about fragile computers falling of seats and falling to pieces.
But although these products satisfy the urge for tough communication devices, they don’t answer truckers’ concerns about staying connected. Although communication companies developed special cell phone antennas that increase the area of a truckers’ cell phone network when he or she is on the phone, and such antennas often work for Internet users as well, a device has now been developed to deal directly with the problem of truckers becoming disconnected from the Internet on the long haul.
The TuffHub is a USB/Ethernet Hub that will keep a new era trucker connected in his or her cab without worries of roadway turbulence. Vibration tested and USB certified, the hub allows truckers to not only connect to the Internet, but also to run a variety of accessories with their computers that use USB hookups, such as printers, card readers, GPS units, digital cameras, and the like. Truckers who use this product can also add video in their vehicle through a special connection. While hubs like these can be found at many electronics’ stories, the TuffHub is specially formulated for use inside your vehicle.
Road tested against scenarios such as vibration, power surges, and electromagnetic interference, this device can stand up to almost any complication that connecting on the go can throw at it. Encased in a shock-resistant, self-extinguishing case, the Tuff Hub features connection points that are designed to prevent accidental disconnection from the communication source. Able to operate in extreme temperatures, and easy to mount in living quarters, this product will allow a new era trucker to stay connected wherever he or she may go. For truckers who are required to be connected to the Internet in order to communicate with bosses or customers, the Tuff Hub is a time and frustration saving device that will allow you to avoid the consequences of late reporting or of being unavailable. For truckers who generally use the Internet for safety updates, this product will make sure that you get your warnings even in the harshest of weather; and for truckers who use the Internet primarily for surfing an chatting with friends and family, Tuff Hub is a great way you to be able to continue your hobby.

If you’re a CSI fan, you probably remember the episode where a blown-out big rig tire was the “killer,” striking a teenager who was racing a go-kart down a highway. If you’re a trucker and a CSI fan, you certainly remember that episode, and probably the Mythbusters segment that confirmed it. And whether these shows crack you up or make you a little nervous, they certainly reinforce the fact that, for truck drivers, tire maintenance is incredibly important.
Unfortunately, that maintenance doesn’t come cheap. In fact, Continental Tire North America recently told the press that it will increase tire prices by ten percent on Continental, General, Semperit, and Private Brand tires. Occurring after an eight percent increase that occurred on the first of this month for two of these tire brands—Continental and General—the ten percent increase will take place on the first of October. Like most recent price hikes, the company blames the price of raw materials, including crude oil, for the increase in price.
But just because the price of tires continues to go up does not mean that truckers can choose to ignore proper tire maintenance. Instead, truckers who don’t want to injure themselves or others or damage their vehicles need to continue to assess the health of their tires and repair problems. For truckers who are new to the profession, dealing with big rig tires can be challenging. Fortunately, many resources exist to help truckers perform routine repairs and maintenance checks on their vehicle’s tires. For instance, many web sites that carry tires also feature service departments that will assist truckers with tire changes and maintenance. Many articles on the Internet suggest the importance of tire maintenance in terms of fuel economy, informing truckers how to keep their tires working for them instead of working against them. Even YouTube features a clip that teaches truckers how to change big rig tires.
Because resources involving tire maintenance are easier to find than it might seem, and because tires are exempt from the price increase in September, truckers should do their tire buying during this month. And although they may be raising their prices, the quality of Continental Tires makes them worth the cost even after the price hike has taken effect. Continental tires have been awarded recognition as one of the most eco-friendly tires available on the market. In fact, Continental’s Eco Plus tires are specially designed to increase fuel economy. For truckers that are more concerned with saving money than saving the planet, however, Continental features premium tires that have a long life and a low level of fuel consumption. Because Continental has a variety of tire models that truckers can choose from, each trucker will find the perfect tire to satisfy their truck and occupation from Continental. Outfitted with warranties and the product of extensive technology knowledge and research, Continental tires will satisfy almost any trucker.
For truckers who want to learn more about the company, however, the Continental web site not only features information about the tires they sell, but it also has the tire fitter application, which will help truckers choose the right product. Similarly, the company offers information about how to build the perfect tire and offers assistance to truckers in need. For this reason, even though their prices are rising, Continental Tires are worth the investment.

Just because you aren’t home to catch them in front of the family set doesn’t mean you deserve to miss your TV shows every day or week because you can’t get a signal in your cab and you don’t want to pay for an overpriced hotel room. Though Internet TV and movies might satisfy your urge to observe for a while, you’ll begin to long your favorite characters and plot foibles. That’s where the VU Qube Mobile Satellite TV system comes in.
According to Dieselboss.com, this invention is perfect for RV and truck drivers who want to watch Dish Network, Direct TV Bell Express VU, or your own television antenna. The “first mobile satellite antenna built for trucks,” this television antenna allows truckers to view their favorite shows in fast, uninterrupted glory.
The satellite TV system is as powerful as a home television antenna, and in fact, DieselBoss says the antenna is so powerful the drivers will begin to confuse their cabs with their own homes. Easy to install, the receiver is mounted just on top of the cab, and the quick in-cab installation allows users to quickly see a difference in their television pictures. But for those truckers who prefer not to install even the easiest equipment, truckers in Albany, Oregon only can choose to have a professional installation.
DieselBoss reports the receiver is not at risk from weather as it is encased in a weatherproof cube for ease of installation and use throughout all weather patterns. Even after it is installed, truckers will have no reason to visit the rooftops of their cabs. Instead, they can use the remote that comes with the receiver to change its position. The satellite connects via a single cable included in the installation. For truckers who use a satellite TV service at home, the dish can be added to their present bill for only $5 each month.
Though the company provides everything needed to get the satellite receiver installed and working, truckers are also required to have several prerequisites before they can expect to be able to watch the programming. They must be subscribed to a to a satellite service, have a satellite receiver with that company, a television, and a mounting bracket. For ease, the company sells required mounting brackets for an additional cost. The brackets come in either a drill or no drill style.
For truckers who don’t want to miss out on entertainment just because they’re working, this satellite system is perfect, simple, and affordable. By improving the picture quality and using the trucker’s existing television package, this product will make truckers want to stay on the road instead of returning home.

Fleet owners, truckers, and owner-operators. What do these three have in common? They’re not going anywhere without their tires. Keeping tires in good shape and replacing them when necessary is important both for fuel economy and for safety, in order to avoid a blowout. Whether you’re looking for big rig tires or tires that will fit your passenger vehicle, tireauditor.com offers drivers everywhere a chance to audit their tire prices, and sell discount truck tires directly to you.
Because they sell primarily to dealers and distributors, Tire Auditor can sell brand name tires at discount prices, something they’ve been doing well for the last twenty-five years. Instead of driving to the dealer or tire store and spending time to pick out tires then have them installed, customers simply order their tires from the web site and wait for them to be delivered. The delivery process, which only takes about 24-96 hours, is available for truckers inside and outside the United States. The Tire Auditor calls itself the Tire Hotline, providing both a web site and 1-800 number.
The site promises to offer the best prices on any given day by constantly updating its prices to reflect the market. For this reason, checking the site each day will give a list of the most current tire prices. Because the site also promises occasional deals for unlisted products or unlisted tire deals, customers can use the EZ Quote form on the site’s main page to inquire about a specific type of tire.
Truckers who worry about Internet companies and the possibility of receiving a faulty product can examine the tires’ warranties, which cover the tire until the tread is warn down below a certain mark. The site owners also perform tire adjustments with some cost the customer.
The site has an extensive inventory, boasting some of the biggest names in tires, including Bridgestone, Michelin, Sumitomo, Goodyear, etc. But if the brand guarantees are not enough, company personnel will provide photos and specs on any tire with a simple call or e-mail. Though the company requires a minimum of eight units to purchase, customers who want to purchase larger quantities of tires are given a high volume discount, and major credit cards are accepted. All of the prices listed on the site include both tax and shipping.
In addition to traditional tires for commercial and passenger vehicles, tireauditor.com also sells “innovated tools for tire service". These tools include the bead booster, which uses one blast of air to fill the tire and seal the tire beads, using less pressure than manual air pumps. One of the most interesting and useful tire service products offered on the site is the Lift Bag, a machine that lifts any vehicle in seconds, even large trucks. The innovation makes tire changing simple and easy, allowing for the trucker’s safety and convenience.
As a professional trucker, you can’t drive without your tires. At tireauditor.com, truckers, fleet owners, and owner-operators can buy large quantities or tires at competitive prices and relax while they’re shipped right to their doors.

When it comes to emergency preparation during the winter, a few blankets and an emergency lamp might get you through the night, but if you’re operating with the motto "better safe than sorry", you might want something better able to take the chill, like a portable generator.
If the power in your vehicle fails during the winter months, the interior of your cab will start getting cold awfully fast. Not only will you have to stand the cold, but also emergency electronics like laptops and GPS units that usually run on battery power will be unable to operate if your battery is not working. Having access to the Internet or a GPS unit might allow you to call for help or find your way out of an emergency situation. Emergency generators, while costly, are worth the security they give you in the midst of a crisis.
The 3500 watt gas generator manufactured by C.M.T. is an example of a portable generator that will stand up to almost any cold winter emergency. For just under $400, the generator will run for an average of eight hours. Because the generator runs on gasoline, it is also relatively easy to fuel. Keeping an extra container of gasoline handy and properly stored will increase the generator’s run time, as the generator runs on a 3.2 gallon tank.
In addition to its long life, the generator is marketed as “super portable” by the manufacturer, fitted with a handle that pops up for easy moving and folds down for easy storage. Because it is compact, weighs little, and is encased in a solid steel frame, the generator is not only easy to move from location to location, but it is also able to put up with rugged terrain and the beating it could receive from daily life on the road. According to the manufacturer, the generator has a long life, so truckers can be sure that even if an emergency does not occur for years down the road, this generator will perform when called upon. The engine is also EPA approved and the engine is both heavy duty and reliable.
Though it may be purchased for emergency use, this generator doesn’t have to be put away for bleary winter days. The generator is also great to use for camping and outings to rustic places where power isn’t easy to come by. In addition, because the generator runs on gasoline, it can double as an emergency generator both on the road and in the home. For truckers that want to make sure they stay safe no matter where they are, this generator is a perfect pick.

As truckers park their vehicles for resting over night, leave them in truck stops or rest stop parking lots, or have to leave their trucks in an insecure off-highway location because of maintenance problems, security more than crosses their minds. For owner operators, you have a lot riding on your truck—your career, the loan payments you’ve been making on the vehicle, and the vehicle itself as a financial asset. Allowing your truck to be damaged or stolen is just as bad as allowing someone to rob or burn down your house. Because of this, most truckers have had security systems since the first days they owned their truck. But if you’re one of the few that has wanted a security system, but just couldn’t get the cash together to purchase one, Jwin has an answer for you.
For only $79.99, the Jwin JVTV2040-ARV video monitoring security system can offer comfort and security for your truck. This simple and effective security system won’t bog you down with wires and payments. Including a black and white monitor that measures 5.5 inches, a black and white camera and a 60-foot cable, the system is simple to install and use. Though a single camera is included in the price, the system is capable of handling an additional camera. The monitor can also be set to switch back and forth between the two cameras at intervals programmable for between two and twenty seconds.
Though the system may be inexpensive, it does not skimp on the necessary equipment to allow safe and effective monitoring of your vehicle. Cameras are fitted with Infrafred LED lights that allow the cameras to record in “near total darkness,” according to the manufacturer. Because of these LED lights, truckers who purchase this system can monitor their vehicles around the clock. But for those who want to do more than monitor their vehicle, the system allows for a video recorder to be attached to the monitor, and video playback is accommodated on the same monitor.
A second Jwin model, the JCTC 2060-ARV, allows the same system to be broadcast on a 12-inch screen and handle up to four cameras for $139.99. Those truckers who often park in less than secure areas may choose this system as it allows the monitor to move seamlessly between cameras on all sides of the vehicle. By using a camera connected to the monitor via cable, installation is still simple, but the extra money buys a few more upgrades from the less expensive system. For example, in addition to being larger, this screen also features a high-resolution display, an earphone jack, and more ports for connecting other equipment like VCRs.
Though fancy security systems are beginning to look like expensive entertainment systems with flat screen TVs and color monitors, truckers can still find simple, inexpensive ways to monitor their vehicles. Choosing one of Jwin’s simple, black and white monitoring systems will give truckers peace of mind without leaving them broke in the process.

Diesel’s high prices have moved from fueling big rigs to fueling anger to fueling the imaginations of innovators across the web. Annoying pop up ads and spam e-mails have taken a vacation from credit card offers and are now advertising products to help you increase your vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Some of these products are probably as hokey as they sound, but legitimate truck retailers have offered products to increase fuel efficiency for years.
One of those products is the Airtab, manufactured by Ultimate Future Products Incorporated. By purchasing an Airtab kit, which comes with 80 Airtabs, templates, and directions for applying them, truckers can use the air rushing by them as they drive to increase their fuel mileage.
According to Ultimate Future Products, Airtabs are vortex generators designed with trucks and tractor-trailers in mind. Once attached to the truck and trailer, they create a “controlled swirl of air” that reduces the drag effect. Without the tabs, air is forced to rush to the back of the vehicle, creating a drag that costs engine power and fuel. According to the manufacturer, tractor-trailers must also deal with the problem area between the cab and the trailer. Certain vehicles have been designed to reduce these problem areas and the drag effect, but the designs are not perfect yet. In the meantime, Airtabs can be used to compensate for the drag.
Ultimate Future Products explains that the tabs create a horizontal airflow pattern to smooth airflow and reduce turbulence and drag effect. This horizontal airflow works with the vehicle instead of against it, saving fuel and engine power. Additionally, the tabs come with the added benefit of increasing visibility for drivers during rain. The tabs redirect the water spray from the vehicle and significantly slow the buildup of snow, dirt, and other waste from the road at the back of the tractor. These two added benefits increase the operator’s safety as well as the safety of other drivers, who often have to deal with the water and dirt spray from tractor-trailers, allowing both to view the road more precisely.
According to their manufacturer, Airtabs will pay for their installation in the amount of fuel that they save, about 4% of the total cost of fuel. Because Airtabs are installed on a per vehicle basis, the cost may be more for vehicles that require a larger amount of air tabs. The regular price of 80 tabs is $200 on productsfortruckers.com. Black and clear Airtabs are also available in addition to the standard white color. Potential consumers can find out more about the product, specific installation requirements, and directions for use by visiting the site.
Though many products claiming to increase fuel economy are falsely advertising, a few legitimate sites offer products that might end up saving you some money when it comes to filling up. The science behind Airtabs seems to back up the invention, and truckers have been using wind redirectors for quite some time, but only you can decide if they’re right for your vehicle.

Although you might think you signed up to work as a trucker, not a secretary, it probably didn’t take you too long to realize that trucking includes a lot of paperwork. From filling out logs to completing customs forms, by the time you’re done signing on the dotted line, you’ll probably have a hand cramp. Although paperwork can be tedious and frustrating, it has to be done, and several products are available for truckers who want to make the task of doing paperwork less painful.
Roadpro Trucker Lap Desks promise comfort and convenience for truckers sitting in their cabs while filling out paperwork. The desks include Micro-Bead Comfort Cushions that rest on the lap while truckers use the desks. The cushions are designed to accommodate truckers’ comfort both while resting on the legs and while the truckers are writing. Truckers can use the desk while filling out paper work in addition to while they are reading or using their laptops. According to the Roadpro web site, the desk can also be placed comfortably on the steering wheel for an angle change. Roadpro also makes a desk model that is specifically designed to fit over the steering wheel.
The desk is not only comfortable, but also practical, including wells for pencils and pens, a smooth writing surface, and a clip for keeping paper secure. A reading light allows truckers to illuminate the desk surface without wasting battery power. For truckers who have to eat in their cabs, the desk can also be used as a table for mealtimes.
If a whole lap desk is too cumbersome, Products 4 Truckers offers a driver’s clipboard especially designed for truckers who have to travel through customs often. Because drivers who must go through customs have to fill out a variety of paperwork prior to entering the customs crossing process, this clipboard allows drivers to have all of the necessary forms in one place. This clipboard is armed with instructions and forms for crossing the borders between the United States and Canada. The paperwork includes detailed instructions for filling out all of these necessary forms.
Both lap desks and the clipboard are available for around $20. Though they won’t lighten truckers’ paperwork load, these products can make the strain of doing paperwork a little less stressful. Instead of trying to balance paperwork on their laps or fishing around for customs instructions in an unorganized cab, truckers can make their lives easier with these products.
For those who would rather leave paper out of the paperwork, however, software is available to keep track of logbooks and other tools of the trade. While truckers may still need to fill out customs paperwork by hand, they may benefit from other products available to turn the trucker’s cab into an office, like passenger seat or behind the seat organizers.

Nothing makes a better impression than a clean and shining truck making its way down the highway. Just a glimpse of that bright red paint and impressively reflective chrome is enough to convince potential clients to use your driving services. But in order to have that shining new truck, drivers have to use the right cleaning products. From waxes to polishes, truckers’ accessory shops and specialty Internet boutiques have the products to keep your truck looking good.
For example, Purple Metal Polish by UFP offers a high quality polish that requires no rubbing. According to its manufacturer, this polish is optimum for truckers who wish to polish aluminum quickly, easily, and with an amazing result. Only a small amount of this polish is necessary for shining metal, and the product even removes small scratches or blemishes in your truck’s aluminum.
A companion to Purple Metal Polish, UFP also offers an aluminum deoxidizer, which is meant to clean all metal surfaces, including rusty chrome. This formula is gentle, designed not to burn or scratch surfaces. While commercial truck washes may use cleaning products that actually damage a truck’s surface, truckers who want to insure gentle care of their vehicles can do it themselves with this product.
Also available from UFP are maintenance products for inside the cab. LVC Leather/Vinyl Conditioner is designed to polish and condition leather and vinyl seats without leaving a greasy residue. The conditioner can be used on seats and interior detailing as well as exterior leather or vinyl covers. According to the manufacturer, the product is meant to keep leather soft and feeling brand new.
But even if you have the most impressively maintained leather seats at the truck stop, your cab won’t be a pleasant place to work and relax if it’s full of unpleasant smells. Whether it’s the odor of diesel from a spill that saturated your boots or the unpleasant remnants of a sandwich forgotten about under the seat, UFP’s ZorbX odor eliminators will solve the problem. ZorbX odor eliminators come in a package with three conveniently sized spray bottles of product. The products come in either scented or unscented versions, both of which are guaranteed to get the odor out.
Those who tire easily of cleaning and truck maintenance can try an innovative new product—5 Star Shine. Formulated for sports cars and other fancy automobiles, the company boasts that its line of products use NASA technology to create a long lasting and professional shine. The spray-on product is meant to keep cars shining and new looking for five years.
Whether you want to try traditional cleaning products like those offered through UFP or the space age technology of 5 star shine, having an impressive looking big rig is as easy as the work you put into it.

As an experienced trucker, you wouldn’t want to leave home without the tools of the trade, designed for emergency situations or everyday use. Where to store these tools, however, becomes a problem. Because many of the tools are expensive, insuring that they are stored properly is an excellent investment. Additionally, certain emergency equipment, like flares, must be stored carefully in order prevent accidents. An excellent way to make sure that your tools will be safe from harm and theft is by purchasing an underbody toolbox.
Highway Products produces underbody toolboxes in a variety of designs and sizes, which can be compared on their websites, www.mytoolstore.com. The boxes are perfect for safe, undercarriage storage because of their durability—they are made of the thickest aluminum available—and their security. Because the doors to the boxes are secured with top-of-the-line Hansen heavy duty locks, the aluminum used is 1/8 inch marine grade, and the boxes are weather resistant, Highway Products is certain its toolboxes can stand up to conditions under a semi-truck.
In addition to this security, which may be easily found among other product manufacturers, Highway Products’ toolboxes include additional durability and security, including a welded stiffener bar and welded gussets in the boxes’ interiors. According to Highway Products, this brand is one of the few that offers the additional measures. With secure piano hinges, and double door models that fix from the inside, drivers can be sure their belongings are safe for the duration of the journey.
Boxes are mounted on the undercarriage of the truck using either L brackets or Plate brackets. Both systems, thought they are not included in the cost of the boxes, are safe and secure, according to Highway Products’ website.
Highway Products offers boxes in a variety of styles to suit the life of almost any trucker. For instance, the Single Door Aluminum Side Open Box is a cube measuring 24 inches on all sides. This box is perfect for storing valuables and small tools. CB Radio
Most things change over time, but one of the tools of a trucker that has remained a staple for the last five decades is the CB radio. Without a doubt it is the quickest and easiest way to find out what is ahead on the road as well as to pick up the latest in chatter from throughout the trucking community.
There is a rich and interesting history of CB radio from its birth in 1945 to the present day. When first initiated and until the mid 60's, users were required to have a license, but so many ignored the requirement that it was eventually discarded. There were only 23 channels until 1977 when it was expanded to the present day 40 channels.
One thing that has remained stable is the power limitations. Four watts for AM and 12 watts for SSB are the legal limits for the 27 Mhz frequencies that are spread about the 40 channels.
The antenna used for CB radio can enhance its capability to receive and transmit and the most effective arrangement is two antennas. These are referred to as “co-phased” and improve the capability of the radio to the front and rear with a lessening of capability to the sides. The key is that the antennas should be separated by a distance of at least 8 feet to realize the best performance.
There are dozens of manufacturers of CB radios but, the standard appears to be the Cobra radio that has sold millions and claims to be the CB radio industry leader.
Cobra is about to offer a new radio that combines Bluetooth technology with their radio. You can now talk on the phone using a CB. The new LTD 29 BT which will be available this summer for $189 will enable users to accept phone calls over their CB.
Cobra claims
“The new unit also offers 4 AM RF power output, the maximum amount of power allowed by law. Other features that make Cobra CB radios the preferred companion for professional drivers include Talk Back controls to adjust the desired amount of modulation talk back that is present at the speaker; a channel indicator displaying channel selections in cool blue illumination; Delta Tune to clarify incoming signals; and adjustable Dynamike® boost, which increases the microphone’s sensitivity for
increased voice clarity.
Whether this innovation will be adopted by the trucking community needs to be determined. Cobra has a display at the Louisville Truck show that features this new radio.

Nitrogen in Tires?
Is there any news out there about using nitrogen in tires?
With fuel costs soaring, even a small increase in MPG is worthy of investigation. Maintaining proper tire pressure is the most critical component in fuel savings as tires that are only slightly under
inflated increase drag and consequently reduce MPG efficiency. Tire pressures should be checked at least monthly and proponents of using nitrogen state that while monthly checks are recommended, that nitrogen will not leak like air and may not need to be checked as often.
Nitrogen has been touted as the cure for under inflation because it will not seep out of tires as readily as oxygen due to the fact that nitrogen molecules are larger. Nitrogen is also said to reduce heat
build-up and prevent oxidation on the inside of tires.
It is widely known that NASCAR uses nitrogen in their racing tires because a more constant tire pressure is maintained. Aircraft and the space shuttle also use nitrogen in their tires. TruckerToTrucker did a search of the Internet looking for success stories about any savings that could occur as a result of using nitrogen in tires and came up with very little, except for stories from folks who sell nitrogen and a few others with fleets of smaller trucks. We thought we might be able to share good news.
The cost for the initial fill-up with nitrogen seems to be about $5-10 dollars per tire, although refills are generally free. Of course you will have to visit the place where you obtained the nitrogen. At that
cost one would want to realize a return on their investment in reduced fuel costs.
Is anybody doing this?

Trucker Supplies and 12 Volt Products
Just a quick heads-up to all of you drivers out there! I recently discovered a great website called 12volt-Travel that has a special section devoted just to truck drivers and truckers supplies. They have about anything you could possibly want or need. In fact they have over 7000 items to choose from, and they have a special page just to help our partners or kids at home select the perfect gift for us who are out there eating up the miles. They have the perfect gift for anyone who is into electronics, computers, TV's or music. They claim that they know how hard it is to find all the truck and trucker supplies online, so they are trying real hard to be the "one stop trucker shop". And get this, they are eager for requests, so if you can't find what you want, they will do there best to try and satisfy that need in the future. They have 15 different departments for the trucking industry, from " air systems accessories parts and pieces" to the "truckers chrome shop" to " cab accessories". They have a great selection of "GPS navigation" items and those all time needed "radar detectors". If you go into each department, there are Monthly Specials and it looks to me like all of the specials for February are 29% off the listed price. I saw a great summer air cooled seat cushion in black that had been $69.90 that has been reduced down to $49.99, now that's not bad! I've been noticing how that February sun is heating up a bit here in the north. Summer can't be that far off, after all it is almost the 1st of March!! 12 Volt-Travel.com also can fix you up with a lot of other supplies for your home such as flat screen TV's or any travel supplies and accessories. You're finally getting tired of turkey sandwiches, and you can't seem to escape the Christmas music blaring from the radio. With the last spoonful of Thanksgiving dressing a fading memory, the Christmas countdown has begun in earnest. If you don't want to open another lame reindeer tie this Christmas (oh, sorry kids, I really love that tie, especially the blinking Rudolph nose), it's time to start spreading a few gift hints around the family.
At Trucker to Trucker we like funny, useless gifts as much as the next guy. (Yes, we have a singing Billy Bass -- two actually.) But there's only so much room in the den for kitschy weird stuff and the wife says I've about reached my limit. So, as a service to our fellow truckers, today Trucker to Trucker debuts a weekly gift guide of useful things truckers want. We'll highlight a useful holiday gift every week from now until Christmas. Feel free to print it out and leave copies laying around the house. If you have a great gift idea you want to share, click comments below.

The Networkfleet 3500 product line gives fleet managers the ability to access productivity and efficiency information on their vehicles in real time.

Many of the onboard recording devices produced for the trucking industry fail to meet federal standards, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) warned truckers and trucking companies. FMCSA has no regulatory authority over companies that manufacture onboard recording devices but warned trucking companies to protect themselves.

"Seventy percent of goods in the US are moved by truck, and the economic impact of cargo theft in the US alone has been estimated in the tens of billions of dollars annually," according to Ralph Bott, general manager of Carrier Transicold's Performance Parts Group. "In addition to lost cargo, costs include equipment downtime, time spent handling claims and increased insurance, all of which can significantly affect profitability.
Theft is a major problem in the trucking industry. (I know I'm preaching to the choir here.) To help fleets and owner/operators combat theft, Carrier Transicold has just introduced a new line of four industrial-strength cargo security devices. Each device is designed to deter thieves in a different way.
- The Sealock is a single-use device that locks and seals, making any truck or trailer tamper-proof. It is compliant with the Department of Homeland Security's anti-terrorism guidelines.
- The Enforcer is an adjustable and reusable lock that fits around trailer keeper bars. Its shackle is protected from physical attack.
- The Enforcer Air Cuff is a portable lock that completely encases the air valves in the tractor cab, preventing truck and trailer brakes from being released.
- The Enforcer King Pin lock secures dropped trailers, preventing unauthorized hook-ups.
The Enforcer series locks can be keyed differently, alike or to a master system, depending on your needs. If you are having problems with theft, you might look into these new lock systems being offered by Carrier Transicold.

Have you noticed the new banners on our homepage for Tandem Stoppers ?
This product is really worth checking out. (otherwise I would not be selling it) Here's what the manufacturer has to say....
Tandem Stoppers eliminate the aggravation associated with sliding trailer tandems. Stop those truck drivers from using unsafe, ineffective ways to slide tandems.
And
Tandem Stoppers Quality Steel Pins are a durable, low-cost solution for truck drivers to keep in compliance with DOT regulations. The pins simply slide into the desired hole, the driver will lock the
trailer brake, slide forward or backward enabling the pin to lock into the desired location, and then remove the steel pin. The process is safe, fast and easy, allowing drivers to accurately distribute the trailer load on the first attempt.
Jeff Landis, CEO of the company and a 20-year truck-driving veteran, originally created the steel pin for himself. He quickly discovered that fellow truck drivers also found his pin useful. Tandem Stoppers. Is now making this idea available to the public.
Has anyone used these pins?
