The Mexican Trucks Are Coming
~ URGENT ~

President Obama and officials in his Administration need to hear from you TODAY!

We have received word that President Obama and Mexican President Felipe Calderon will be discussing cross-border trucking at the North American Leaders Summit this Sunday (August 9) in Guadalajara, Mexico.  President Calderon will pressure President Obama to move forward with opening U.S. roads to Mexico-domiciled trucking companies and truck drivers.

Recent statements by US government officials indicate that President Obama is being advised by individuals in his own Administration to give in to pressure from Mexico and the multi-national corporations behind the push for Mexican trucks in the U.S. Those folks have stated that they will not be satisfied with a temporary or pilot program, they want full access to the U.S. market for Mexico-domiciled companies and drivers.

President Obama and officials in his Administration need to hear from you, your family members and your fellow truckers TODAY!  Please pass this message along to everyone you know!!

If proponents of cross-border trucking with Mexico have their way, the jobs of all U.S.-based long-haul truckers will be in serious jeopardy --- YOUR JOB.  You need to convey that message when you are talking with government officials.  In addition, you should tell them that granting Mexican trucks full access to U.S. highways makes NO SENSE because none of the safety or security issues have been resolved on either side of the border!

This guy and his administration is out to do whatever they can to destroy the livelihood of so many Americans. I have nothing against Mexico and their people. I love the country and its culture and so forth, but millions of Americans are without work, thousands of drivers are finding it difficult to locate work, thousands more of CDL grads cannot find a driving job, after the CDL schools took their money anyway ...and not to mention the safety factor involved for our nations' travelers. It's all under the disguise of the NAFTA agreement, but it's only one more way to pull America down and create more hardships for the citizens of this country.

OH DEAR ! OH DEAR ! Trucker Jim ! When will people finally stop spouting this misinformation. The US and Mexican governments are asking that the market be opened to trucks from Mexico who pickup freight and deliver it in the United States just like the Canadians already do. It is illegal for any of them including Canadians to pickup freight in the USA and deliver it in the USA. This is known throughout the world as Cabotage. They would have to find freight which is returning back across another border for which his company has a permit. For example a Mexican company with US and Canadian permits would be able to pick up in Mexico, deliver to Salt Lake, then reload and deliver to Calgary. Its called free trade and is how the rest of the world operates. He would not be allowed to pick up in Salt Lake and deliver to Denver. He couldn't get insurance on the load and no broker would touch him. The first scale he crossed he would be parked and arrested. If you don't want Mexicans driving in the US Jim then just say why and stop trying to send the industry back to the regulated 1950s good old days. Look around you, this country is a trading nation. Its economy is based on trade and its people are from every corner of the world, yes, even Mexico.

Well that changes everything Peter, I will educate myself before jumping on a bandwagon again. Thanks for setting us straight.
