TRUCC Act Has A Number

TRUCC Act Has A Number

Last week Trucker To Trucker reported that Senator Olympia Snowe, (R-Maine), and Senator Sherrod Brown, (D-Ohio) introduced a bill which requires by law that fuel surcharges to be passed on to the person that actually buys the fuel.

At that time the US Senate had not assigned a number to that bill.  That action has now been completed and the Bill is S 2910

It would be beneficial to voice your support for this initiative.  You can contact your Representative or Senator by clicking on these links – Representative or Senator

I am from Maine and contacted Sen. Snowe a few weeks ago, this was one of the issues I brought up. I also got a detailed personal email from her following up with me, unlike the "canned" responses I got from a few others - apparently she means what she says and she introduced the bill on my birthday! I sent emails to all our elected officials including President Bush (he hasn't called yet...)I was asked for permission to share it on the floor of the House at the State level so they could send a resolve to Congress. Proof that some do listen AND act. Not most, but some. So by all means, get involved - let them know what we need to survive in practical terms!! And thank the ones that listen and tell all your friends about the ones that don't so that they won't get re-elected, I did.

YOU HAVE ALL GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I WORK FOR A BROKERAGE, AND WE ARE CURRENTLY BEING RAPED BY CARRIERS WHO WANT MORE THAN FUEL SURCHARGES ARE BEING RAISED. CARRIERS ARE CURRENTLY BEING PAID %20 MORE BY MY BROKERAGE SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER, AND WE HAVE ONLY RECEIVED %11 FROM OUR CUSTOMERS. FACE IT!!! COSTS HAVE GONE UP, AND THE ECONOMY SUCKS!!! YOUR MARGINS HAVE TO SHIRINK JUST LIKE OURS, THE CUSTOMERS, AND THE REST OF THE HARD WORKING AMERICANS IN THE US!!
