Website Traffic Stats - Website 101
What is your website doing?

I hear it all the time, yep I have a website. Then I ask.....how much traffic do you have? uh I think we had 60 million hits last month....BS

The greatest thing about the web is accountability, even the most basic statistics programs can give you enough information to determine if your website is producing any benefit for your company or organization. It's very simple to start with counting "unique visitors" to a site. This tells you how many individual visitors are coming to your website on a daily basis. Once that number is established, then we start looking at how many pages they view per visit. Next you need to market your website to increase these numbers, I know it sounds elementary, but there is a general consensus that once you have a website, it markets itself. hmmm. Website marketing is something every company large and small needs for growth into the future. My mission is to steer those in my camp in the right direction, separate the BS from Truth....

Now...What is your website doing?

Ask me questions....it's free!

I cannot agree more about the need for website marketing. When I began my company, Rojack Communications, we were a small start up communications company. To grow our business, we started a website designed for professional drivers. (www.truckroute.net) In the begining, our site was getting almost no hits at all. Then by some miracle, about 10-15 hits a day started coming in. Without having advertised our site, we assume the hits were from name recognition alone. Once we invested in website marketing our hits began to go up even more. Business started to improve and word was begining to spread about what our website had to offer. In no time at all, word had spread about what we were doing and it caught the attention of the media. (This, if you can get it, is the best way to market your business.) Publicity via the media is not only free, but it generates high volumes of website traffic. At first, our site had been featured in various trucking news articles which generated additional traffic for our site. Shortly there after, our service caught the attention of "Open Road" which is a nationally syndicated radio program for the trucking industry on XM Satalite Radio channel 171. Once our interview on Open Road took place, our website traffic shot throught the roof and it just keeps coming in. As result of this marketing, revenue increased for our website which will allow us to spend more on our marketing programs. With each new add that goes out, more traffic comes in which brings more revenue. So yes, website marketing is a must if you plan to make your website a success. Ronald A.
