More Information About Rolloff Trucks

Company owners, drivers and owner-operators who are looking for pre-owned and new rolloff trucks can feel free to browse our selection. We have rolloff trucks from some of the top names in the industry, including Mack, Kenworth, International, Volvo, Peterbilt, and Sterling. Each listing includes a wide variety of information about the vehicle, including mileage, make, transmission type, warranty information, wheelbase, fuel capacity and tire size. Information about included amenities is also available, as are free shipping quotes from the truck's location to your company's yard.

Roll-off trucks can generally accommodate containers of various sizes. The standard sizes for these containers in the United States range from ten cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. They are also weight restrictions on the containers, so you must be careful not to overload them with heavy materials. Containers that are used to haul heavy materials often have low side-rails to make it more difficult to overload the trailer by weight.

Most rolloff trucks have beds that are raised and lowered using hydraulics. The hydraulic system is easy to use and makes getting the container off the truck simple. Loading the full container back onto the rolloff truck is a more complicated process. Some trucks use a system with a winch and cable to pull the container onto the truck. Other trucks have a hook-lift system that the driver uses to get the container onto the truck. A hook extends from an arm on the truck, hooking onto a bar on the container. The container is then lifted onto the truck. Hook-lift systems are generally used for containers that hold less than 20 yards of material. The container is usually covered with a heavy tarp during transport so that the material doesn't fall out onto the roadway or cause damage to passing vehicles.

Most rolloff trucks are equipped with the same amenities that you would expect to see in the cab of any modern truck. These amenities include cruise control, tilt wheel, air conditioning and cup holders.

Other amenities that may also be available in rolloff trucks include:

  • Roll off hoist
  • Grapple boom
  • Warranty
  • Tarping system
  • Toolbox
  • Locking rear differentials
  • Backup alarm
  • Block heater
  • Plumbing for pup trailer
  • Drop axle
  • Engine brake
  • Heated mirrors
  • Aluminum fenders
  • Air-ride cab
  • Large fuel capacity
